THOMAS MICKELSON

Project Manager/Senior Estimator

Thomas started his career in structural steel in 2014 working for a local company in Tulsa, OK fabricating large utility poles. He started as a shop helper and learned to weld on his own during his break time, in less than six months he passed the company weld test and started welding full time. Progressing quickly, Thomas then became a shop foreman in 2016.

In 2017, Thomas then joined a small local company in Tulsa, OK as their production and project manager, fabricating structural steel for commercial projects. There he learned all about the commercial construction side of structural steel by estimating future work, billing, managing job cost, procurement, fabrication and installation. There he also established LEAN and 55 principles to help maintain cost and streamline production and installation.

Thomas joined Equus Metals, Inc. in March of 2019 as an estimator, starting his career in ornamental metals. He has since moved to project management, still assisting in the estimating department, to utilize his skills in LEAN fabrication, cost management, purchasing and leadership to help progress Equus Metals, Inc further.
